How does dementia home care work?

How much does senior dementia care cost?
Dementia care costs vary depending on the level of need required. If 24-hour dementia care is necessary, then costs will be more expensive than someone requiring just daytime care. The intensity of care can also affect costs, as can weekend care costs vs week day costs. Live-in dementia care will cost from £1150 per week.
Financial support from local councils are offered but these are determined depending on the needs and financial situation of the person receiving care. Potential options that include funds include can be sought from:
- NHS
- Local authority
- Charities (i.e. Age UK, Macmillan)
- Attendance allowance
- Health insurance
