There are many ways that a carer can ensure that s/he promotes dignity, privacy and independence when providing care. The main ways are to seek permission from the client before carrying out a care task, ensuring the client’s doors and curtains are closed, covering parts of the body whilst washing and dressing, and ensuring nobody else is in the room when personal care is being carried out.
