Live-in care provides 24/7 support within the comfort of your own home. A dedicated caregiver moves into your residence to assist with daily living activities, allowing you to maintain independence and remain in your familiar surroundings.

Our live in care service is not just for older people but for anyone over the age of 16 with care needs.   For example,  brain injury, spinal injury, cerebral palsy, MS, MND etc

At the point of enquiry we will ask you whether you or your loved one requires a live-in carer that drives. If the answer is yes, we will then match you with a carer that drives.

A live-in carer must have their own room with clean sheets, chair, wardrobe for hanging their clothes and the usual items to make their stay as comfortable as possible. They would also normally expect to have a television in their room and Wi-Fi access if possible.

The live-in carer lives at the property, with their client, for the duration of the booking.

A live-in carer is expected to be able to have sufficient rest period during the night time (at least 8 hours’ sleep). If a live-in carer is regularly woken more than twice in the night by the person they are caring for, an additional carer may be needed to cover waking nights. Night calls will incur additional costs.

A live-in care will usually have their break between 2pm-4pm as this is seen as a quiet time for clients i.e. after lunch when usually no personal care is needed. A carer would be actively working for approximately 8 hours per day and would be on call at all times except their break times and as agreed.

Live-in carers usually expect to take a 2-hour break daily. During this down time, they are free to leave the home or spend time in their room without being required to monitor their client. The timing of this break can be discussed with the carer. However it is usually taken between 2pm-4pm when most clients are settled after lunch.

In order to arrange live-in care for yourself or your loved one, we will require you to speak to one of our trained advisers. They will be able to talk you through the support needed based on the information you tell us. They will then contact members of the team who match the kind of carer you are searching for. Once they have suitable carers they will arrange for you to view their profiles and conduct a phone interview with them. Following the success of this, we will help you to arrange a suitable start date for the carer.
